Common names: Amaryllis
Light needs: Medium light, increase slightly when flowering.
Best temperatures: Warm. 70ºF (21ºC) days and 60ºF (16ºC) nights.
Water and humidity needs: Keep soil moist once plant begins to grow.
Growing guidelines: Set bulb in well-drained, all-purpose soil. Have the bulb stick out about a quarter above the soil. Fertilize once a month while plant is growing.
Common problems: If there are leaves and no flowers, the pot may be too large.
Propagation: Remove and repot offsets.
Comments: Easy to bring into a large bloom. Great for winter-time color. Flowers last longer if plant is kept a little cool.
